Category Page Best Practices
Overview
The objective of recommendations on the Category Page is to help the customer effectively drill down into the vertical of interest.
- Quantity: 1-2 placements. If a category list page where Discover is enabled, one placement is fine, and quite frankly, we shouldn’t object to having zero placements.
- Location: Prioritize inserting a placement above the fold or as high up on the page as possible. Similar to the Home page guidance, commit to show only (in-category) personalized recommendations if the retailer objects to display top sellers high up on the page.
- Strategies: It’s a best practice to use in-category personalized strategies here and default to in-category top-seller recommendations otherwise.
